Sephora Friends + Family
The most important day of the year is upon us: November 7th. Why? It is the Sephora Friends and Family Sale, 20% off anything and everything! Makeup-lovers rejoice as they eagerly stock up on their old stand-by's as well as some new favorites. Here are my picks for this year:
Laura Mercier Artist Palette ($48){LINK} This is probably the number one thing I am excited about. It is a beautiful palette with a combination of neutral and matte shades. LAura Mercier has created the most soft, blendable shadows and for $48 plus 20% off, this a steal! You will be able to create endless wearable looks.
Make Up Forever HD Invisible Cover Foundation ($42){LINK} I had tried this many years ago, possibly when it first came out. The formula seemed so thick and hard to work with at the time, but I recently received a generous sample and loved how flawless and natural it made the skin. This is a definite purchase for me this year.
Sunday Riley Good Genes Treatment ($105){LINK} Sunday Riley is one of my most recent brand discoveries. They are formulated without parabens, sulfates and fragrances, which always gets major points from me, but on top of that, their products simply work. I LOVE their Breathable Tinted Primer in Medium, it plumps and perfects skin, but I have been recently sampling their Good Genes treatment. It is basically a serum that you can use day and night or be left on for 30 minutes as a mask. You see immediate results, it brightens, hydrates, boosts circulation, gently exfoliates, and well, makes you look as though you have good genes. No wonder makeup artists use this as a prep for models' skin at runway shows. It is quite pricey though, and that is why now is a good time to buy.
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette ($58){LINK} This was a much buzzed about product when it was originally released, but Sephora is now offering three of the shades, as a limited- edition trio, one of the shades being exclusive to this palette. I have been so curious to try this powder, but I found the shade selection overwhelming. Certain shades can be used as an all over face powder to diffuse and set makeup, while others can be used more a highlight. I love that you get to try three-in-one with this.
Nars Guy Bourdin One Night Stand Cheek Palette ($58){LINK} This is another limited-edition palette inspired by legendary fashion photographer Guy Bourdin. If you have yet to try Nars blushes, this is a must for you. The palette includes their most popular shade Orgasm and Laguna bronzing powder, along with 4 other gorgeous colors.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Rose Gold ($38){LINK} This is a Holiday product from Becca described as, "A creamy powder luminizer is like crushed gemstones in a compact for refined luminosity in any light." The unique rose gold shade makes it a perfect highlighter for all skin tones.
Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo ($30){LINK} I already own this and love it! I got Shade 4, but there is a choice of 6 shades. If you are in the market for a nude lip color, look no further. Used with Becca Plump & Define Lip Pencil, hello Angelina Jolie!
St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Mousse ($32){LINK} I will confess I get really lazy when it comes to self-tanning, it feels like such a commitment, until I discovered the Tan Applicator Mitt. It makes it all so easy and effortless. Before I would slap it on with my hand (the number one cardinal sin of self-tanning!) and it would predictably end up streaky and uneven. This mitt not only cuts the process in half, time-wise, it is literally fool-proof. Plus, we all need a bit of a glow as winter approaches.
That is just a mere few of the many things I could mention! I didn't even tap into haircare or perfume (perfect time to stock up on your boyfriend's cologne for Christmas). I will be sharing my purchases come November 7th. Tell me what YOU have your eye on!
