The Double Cleanse
Skincare can seem very overwhelming: Cleansers, Exfoliators, Moisturizers, Serums, Sunscreen, Eye Creams. Ay yi yi! Where to begin? What about: Oily, Dry, Normal, Combination, Mature, Sensitive? I am telling you to throw it all out the window. This is what I have learned after years and years of trial and error: the gentler the better. No more harsh, foaming, alcohol-based anything. The goal is to leave your skin balanced-not tight, not dry, not stripped. When you strip the skin of natural oils, it in turn, causes your skin to produce more oil leading to more breakouts. Introducing: The Double Cleanse.
Step One: Remove Makeup
Using a cotton pad and Bioderma, sweep over the face, eyes, and neck for gentle and effective makeup removal.
Step Two: Cleanse and Balance Skin
Using Emma Hardie balm, take a dime -sized amount, massage into skin, allowing to break down residual makeup (I even let it sit on the skin for a minute). Next take a towel or muslin cloth and run under warm water, place over face, let the heat steam for a few seconds and wipe off cleanser. Skin will be softer and smoother than ever and ready for the next phase of your routine.
