Sephora VIB Sale
It is the MOST important day of the year, the Sephora Friends and Family Sale. 20 percent off the whole of Sephora. Now is the time to stock up on holiday gifts, back-up's of your favorite products, and to splurge on a few new ones as well. Here are my picks:
Best Palettes: Sephora has many palettes to choose from but the Nars Virtual Domination Cheek Palette features three blushes, a highlighter, and their best-selling bronzer Laguna. Bobbi Brown has jumped on the nude palette train and introduced the Warm Basic Palette, chicly packaged in a tortoise shell case.
Best for Face: This sale is great for stocking up on old stand-bys and longtime favorites, products you know you love and buy time and time again. I always buy a backup of my foundation and concealer. YSL Le Teint Touche Eclat Foundation is lovely in winter for a dewy glow and the Nars Radiant Concealer has quickly shot to the top of makeup artist's list with its creamy, pigmented finish. Lastly, Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector in Moonstone is stunning for that pale gold candelit glow.
Best for Lips: I always preach on and on about nude lipsticks, my two longtime favorites are Nars Audacious Lipstick in Raquel and Hourglass Femme Nude Lip Stylo in 4.
Best for Body: The Josie Maran Whipped Argan Oil Ultra-Hydrating Body Butter moisturizer is incredible, a longtime favorite. The Vanilla Apricot scent is divine and it is the most buttery in texture.
Best for Nails: This British Spice duo from Butter London looks perfect for Autumn with one shade a red-brown chocolate creme and the other a champagne glitter.
Best for Travel: Not one to spend a lot on makeup wipes, I bought a sample pack of these new Ole Henriksen Nurture Me Cleansing Cloths. I am converted as they remove every last trace of makeup, leave your skin feeling as if you have cleansed and toned, and smell like a creamsicle. I always stock up on my favorite Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream for next to my bed and travel bag. Upon checkout, I saw the Sephora Multitasker Mini Complexion Brush in Gold (my fave!), another great thing to toss in a purse or makeup bag.
Best New Products: Nudestix is a new brand with the concept of easy-to-use makeup crayons to create a natural beauty look. I have tested these and love their Magnetic Eye Colors in Angel (shimmering peachy nude) and Twilight (cool bronze) for a simple and beautiful easy eye look. The Lip + Cheek Pencil's are lovely as well, I like the shade Mystic (pinky nude).
