What are you doing New Year's Eve?
What are you doing New Yearssss, New Year's Eveeeee? Ella Fitzgerald lazily croons those lyrics in one of my favorite songs of the season. New Year's Eve is the time to indulge in shimmers, glitters, metallics galore. Bring out the golds and silvers, bronzes and pinks! Happy 2015!
The Routine
EYES: I love the idea of a rose gold eye using Stila Metal Foil Finish Eye Shadow in Kitten and sweeping golden shades from the Naked Palette 3 over the top and into the crease for definition. If you want an extra glittery pop, trace Urban Decay's Heavy Metal Glitter Liner close to the lash line. Final Step: Add some serious coats of mascara. (Try Too Faced Better than Sex Mascara for va va voom lashes.)
CHEEKS: To warm up the skin, start with Nars Laguna Bronzer using the Becca Perfecting Brush perfect for a bit of contour and all over bronze. For a soft pink pop, I have re-fallen in love with the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes. The texture of these blushes give that perfect lit-from-within winter glow. Lastly, add a shimmery highlight to the cheekbones with Urban Decay Naked Illuminated in Luminious, a champagne beige.
LIPS: For a kissable pout at midnight, try this combo. I have to start with a lip liner no matter what, try Lancome Lip Liner in Bronzelle or Too Faced Lip Liner in Perfect Nude. For extra pout, add the Buxom Full Bodied Lip Gloss in Yes You, a pinky Nude. These glosses are so moisturizing and perfect for reapplying throughout the night.
FINAL TOUCHES: Don't skip your nails, try a gold and glitzy duo by Essie using the shade Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low (molten gold) and over the top Hors d'Oeuvres (platinum gold with silver glitter.) Your makeup is divine, so you can't head out the door with pasty legs - Lorac Tantalizer Body Bronzing Lotion has been a longtime staple in my get-ready kit, it glides on and stays put. A spritz of something sweet, like Prada's Candy Florale, and you're ready to watch the ball drop!
