Simplicity is the Ultimate Sophistication

In an age of overdone weddings full of lace, pearls, and an abundance of beading, it was a welcome change to see the utter simplicity of the dress that Olivia Palermo chose to wear on her intimate wedding day. This is the picture of a modern bride exuding sophistication and beauty. A look that will remain timeless when reflected upon in 40 years. 

The design consisted of three pieces by Carolina Herrerra: a cream cashmere sweater scattered with ostrich feathers, white shorts beneath a full skirt overlay with floral appliqué and a high front split. Accessories were kept minimal with simple jewelry, natural hair and makeup, and finished with "something blue" Manolo Blahnik heels. 

Olivia Palermo and Johannes Huebl were married in a quiet ceremony yesterday in Bedford, New York.
