4 Steps for Red Carpet Skin
Awards seasons is here, and the biggest event in show business is Sunday, The Oscars. I thought I would share my secrets for when I want my makeup and skin to look its absolute best. (Usually for a special event or an important shoot.) As it happens, all of the products are Charlotte Tilbury and I truly love them all. After all, she is the queen of red carpet beauty and glamour.
Step 1 : The Mask
Using the Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin Clay Mask, I apply all over my face and neck. I feel like this product is a little misconceiving because of the word “clay." When I think of a clay mask, I think of it as drying hard and crackly, this does not do that. This is more of a vanity mask, giving skin extra radiance and glow. The spanish clay absorbs oil and draws out surface impurities, while the almond oil deeply nourishes. I leave on for 10-15 minutes, rinse with warm water and a final splash of cold. Skin is baby soft and ready for makeup.
Step 2: Skin Prep
Next, I take the Magic Cream and really work into my skin, massaging it deeply into skin, getting the circulating going. (Watch her video on this.) I then dab a small amount of the Magic Eye Cream around the eye area, using circular motions to delicately apply the product. I like to allow a few minutes for it to settle in.
Step 3: The Primer
I have finally finished my bottle of Charlotte Tilbury Wonder Glow. This stuff is genius! This is a blurring primer, that adds a warm glow and smoothes skin.
Step 4 : The Foundation
I have been trying this Magic Foundation for a few months now, but it is finally available in the US! It is a full coverage foundation, a little goes a long way, bit it has a very lightweight feeling on the skin. I like to start with a little amount of this, working it into the skin with a stippling brush. I then like to take a damp beauty blender and press it over the skin. Taking off any excess product and blending the rest into the hairline, jaw, and down the neck.
There it is my routine for when I want to look my absolute best! I always suggest getting your hands on a sample or trying one of her travel size kits to see if you like the products.
