The Daily Face Edit

At this point, I have my beauty routine down to a science. While it is fun to experiment with different looks, everyone needs a go-to daily routine. Some of these products I have truly used for years and years and repurchased tens of times.  But I thought it would be fun to share my start to finish daily routine and how I may moderate it for the evening.

The Base

Depending on the day, I may apply a primer after skincare, but usually I go straight in with my beloved Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in 3.5 Warm Beige. I have tried and liked other foundations, but this is my holy grail. It is water based formula, so it has a thin texture, making it easy to smooth across the face with hands and won't clog pores. It gives good coverage and feels like skin, Bobbi didn't create an empire for nothing. Another product I have on hand at all times is Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer in SC3. Beloved by makeup artists, it is a highly pigmented cover up that I use around the nose or on any blemishes, as well as for touch ups throughout the day. For under the eyes, I like Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Corrector in Light Bisque to cancel out any darkness layered under Urban Decay Naked Concealer in Light/Neutral to bring a bit of brightness.

The Face

I have a special fondness for bronzer, hence having about four on rotation. I usually start with Charlotte Tilbury Ibiza Beach Stick in the center of the face. It makes skin look youthful and dewy. If you haven't tried this, I think it is a great summer no-fuss product to have in your beach bag. Then I may layer with some classic such as  Bobbi Brown Bronzing Powder in Golden Light or Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze. If adding blush, I will enhance bronze tones with Chanel Blush in Golden Sun or add a pop with Nars Blush in Gina, a pretty peach. Sometimes I use both, concentrating the Chanel blush higher on the cheekbones and add the Nars one more at the apple of the cheek.

For a highlight, during the day, I like RMS Beauty Living Luminizer and for evening, I use Charlotte Tilbury Bar of Gold, not only on my face, but my shoulders and collarbone.

The Brows

Brows are important, but I am pretty low maintenance when its comes to them. I like to fill in any sparse areas using a pencil. Lately I have been using Bobbi Brown Brow Pencil in Blonde, sometimes topping with Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Brow Gel in Brigitte to set them for extra hold.

The Eyes

For the eyes, I always use Laura Mercier Eye Basics Primer in Wheat to cancel out any bluish tones, then I may simply apply a little bit of bronzer over the lid. If I am looking to do a bit more, I tap Charlotte Tilbury peach shadow (part of the Legendary Muse palette, currently unavailable) over the top for a bit of luminosity and Charlotte Tilbury Eyeshadow Pencil in Bronzed Garnet on the bottom lashline, which really brings the green out in my hazel eyes (I often do an entire smoky eye with just this pencil for an evening look.) I then curl my lashes and use a coat of Chanel Le Volume Mascara on top and bottom lashes.

The Lips

I get a lot of questions on what lip combos I wear. I live and die by my nude lip! I always without fail use It Cosmetics Lip Liner in Nude Buff. Sometimes I just top with a bit of lip balm such as the La Mer Lip Balm, and head out the door. More often than not, I use Hourglass Nude Stylo in No 4, a bit paler than the lip liner, thus by illusion, creating a fuller 3D lip. But I have also been liking this Marc Jacobs Liquid Lip Creme in Fawn Over Me, a peachy nude, as of late.

Final Steps include, a generous spritzing of a facial mist to set the makeup, take away any powderiness, and bring life back to the skin. I like Aesop Immediate Moisture Mist or Pixi Vitamin Wake Up Mist. If I don't forget, this is an essential step! I also am loving to apply an aromatherapy oil, like this Enlivening Oil from Palermo Body, with grapefruit and lemongrass, on pulse points and in between my hands, breathe in and start my day!
