New Beauty Items
As ingredients and formulas are constantly evolving, beauty products are more exciting than ever. I am lucky enough to get to try a lot of the newest launches, so when something makes it into my personal makeup bag, it's passed my test. I have been trying so many new products that I have been loving and am very impressed with.
Laura Mercier is one of my favorite brands of all time. I have gone on and on about their Secret Camouflage Concealer, something I have on hand at all times. They just recently launched their Translucent Powder in Glow. I really don't use powders that much, but this made me think twice. Upon use, I was blown away by the natural luminosity it added while feeling completely weightless. What really sold me was when people started immediately asking me what I was wearing on my skin. It sets your makeup without looking flat or dull, and is non-detectable to the eye.
I love cream products, especially in the form of blush. I warm a little blush on my hand and apply to the apple of the cheek and up towards the highest point of the cheekbone. It is important to note that I do this after foundation application and before any powder products, so that it really becomes part of the skin. That little bit of color adds a healthy, youthful glow that people think is just your natural flush.
My favorite is the Tata Harper Volumizing Lip & Cheek Tint in Very Popular. The hyaluronic acid visibly plumps cheeks and leaves a soft rosy glow. A newer purchase is the Manasi 7 All Over Color in Chamoisee that I picked up in the Goop shop. The multi-use pot is a universally flattering earthy nude tone that I especially love on the lips, as well as the cheeks and eyes.
Manasi 7 is a Swedish brand that has an incredible business ethos. They use organic, raw ingredients that are harvested by the season, and minimally processed. I am eager to try other products from their line.
Another product that I have used all summer is the Nudestix All Over Face Color in Bondi Bae. This creamy bronzer seamlessly blends into the skin, adding a natural warmth. I love applying this on the forehead, cheeks, and across the bridge of the nose for an effortless sun-kissed look. When I am wearing minimal makeup sometimes I will add just a bit of concealer and this to make my pale face look alive.
When I was some serious glow, I turn to these two products. Sometimes at night when I want to do a little more of an eye look, I like to keep the face neutral. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Brilliant Nude is described as a deep amber color blended with brilliant strobe light powder. It is the perfect compliment to a bronzer and gives you that "lit from within' glow that you can skip the highlight.
If you were looking for highlight, I am loving the DIor Backstage Glow Palette. I have found so many uses for this! It really is an all in one, so if you are traveling, you can pack this and skip other blushes, eyeshadows, and even bronzer. I like to use mix the top shades for a classic highlight, use the pink tone as a blush, and tap the bronze shade on the eyelid.
