Beauty Essentials
I have been loving my paired down beauty routine lately. I thought I would share the products I have been using, some old favorites and some new additions.
SKIN PREP
After cleansing, I use a Vitamin C Serum like the Drunk Elephant C-Firma Day Serum or Omorovicza Daily Vitamin C Serum. I then mix a pump of the Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops with Control Correctives Sunscreen SPF30. I absolutely love the Drunk Elephant bronzing drops for a few reasons. One, I love that this adds a bronzed veil and you can control amount of color it gives you. But unlike a self tanner, this does wash off at the end of the day. I like this because I have never found a self tanner that doesn’t clog the pores in some way. Because this serum has been formulated by a skincare brand, there is no fear of breaking out or having a reaction. It also formulated with antioxidants and fatty acids to give an extra boost to the skin.
COMPLEXION
FOUNDATION | Most days, I just use a bit of concealer, but when I want a really flawless, polished face, I have been reaching for the Laura Mercier Flawless Radiance-Perfecting Foundation in Macademia. I am not exaggerating when I say you need ONE pump of this highly pigmented formula. I like to work into the skin with my hands and then soften the edges with a damp sponge.
CONCEALER | For the face, I am forever loyal to the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer in S3. It is a drier consistency, so it really sticks to the face and doesn’t move. For under eyes, I like to use the YSL Touche Eclat Brightening Pen in 2.5 Luminous Vanilla. This conceals while bringing lightness to any shadows. It is not heavy, no wonder it is a French girl’s secret.
BRONZER : I like to use Nudestix Matte Stick in Bondi Bae or Sunkissed on the cheekbones, forehead, and nose. It adds a subtle contour and warmth. Sometimes I add a light dusting of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Luminous Bronze Light over to set the cream and to add a little color to the neck so everything blends together.
HIGHLIGHTER | I apply Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Highlighter Wand . It has a sponge tip applicator that blend easily and adds a reflective glow to cheekbones.
EYES
PRIMER | I always do this step, just to even out the eyelids, even if I don’t apply anything after. I have always used the Laura Mercier Eye Basics Primer in Wheat.
LID : I usually brush a little bronzer in the crease and then applying the Jillian Dempsey Lid Tint in Glimmer for a very natural peachy sheen.
LASHES : A couple of weeks ago, I had my first lash lift aka a perm for your lashes. I never wear mascara in the day, so this gives a nice curled look. Unlike extensions, you can apply mascara and use any makeup removers like normal.
If you live in Los Angeles, I highly recommend Amanda Robinson from Iris + West Lash Co for lash lifts or extensions. The whole process took and hour and I absolutely love them!
I prep lips using the GrandeLip Hydrating Lip Gloss in Clear. Next, I line the lips with It Cosmetics Lip Liner in Buff Nude and apply Marc Jacobs Lip Creme Lipstick in Cream and Sugar.
