The Beauty Bag Edit

IMG_7646.jpg

I wanted to do a breakdown of what has been in the rotation of my beauty bag. I have some old favorites, but also some new ones that I have really been loving. My focus is always on the complexion, if there is a beautiful canvas, then everything else falls into place.

I also scooped up this beauty bag, which has a magentic brush holder and comes with a standing mirror. Here’s the breakdown….

FACE

Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation in Warm Beige –– My tried and true foundation of choice. It has a lightweight thin texture that really looks like skin. The reason I keep coming back to it is the color. It’s my perfect match and I will always mix a drop into another base if I want the color to work. It’s also noncomedogenic

Hourglass Vanish Foundation Stick in Nude–– This is an unsung hero. It is a full coverage foundation stick that really delivers a flawless finish. I use this in 2 ways. I like to swipe over the areas I want more coverage(around the nose and chin) for when I want my makeup to look really good in pictures. The second way is at the end of the day when I’m going somewhere and need a quick touch up. It is so blendable, so I use fingers, a damp sponge, or the Laura Mercier Blending Brush depending on my mood.

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer in SC3–– If you have followed my blog for any amount of time, you will have seen me mention this concealer a couple hundred times? This is in my handbag at all times. It is highly pigmented, covers a blemish like nothing else, and I love how it is in a compact with a mirror.

Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder in Glow –– I’m not a big powder gal, but when I want to set my makeup for photographs or to take away some shine from the T-Zone, I reach for this. The LM translucent powder is a classic, but I have really been digging their glow version. It adds a blurring veil that mattifies with some luminosity.

YSL Touche Eclat in Luminous Vanilla — | I used to buy this cult classic product back in the day, but I honestly don’t think I understood how to use it. This is not a concealer, it basically adds light to the face. So wherever there is dark shadowing, ie under your eyes, it adds a brightness back.

Bronzer, Blushes, + Skin Enhancers

Nudestix Matte Bronze in Bondi Bae — In the daytime, I love swiping this on the face for a natural hint of bronze. The cream formula feels like a second skin. Sometimes I use this for a subtle contour and set with a powder when I am going out in the evening,

Nudestix Nudies Bloom in Sweet Peach Peony — I love adding this as a last step. The creamy texture adds this dewy cheek texture to the face and gives it a youthful glow.

Laura Mercier Magic Hour Face Palette — When I really want to add some dimension, I like to use the pinky shades of this palette as a blush/highlighter combination. I also absolutely love the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette for this as well.

EYES + Brows

Laura Mercier Eye Basics in Wheat — When I’m doing an eye look, I like to use this as a base to even out the color and for longevity.

Jillian Dempsey Lid Tint in Glimmer + Dew — This gives your eyes that beautiful natural glow. They are creamy and lived in looking which I love.

Jillian Dempsey Rich Eyeliner in Rich Brown — This creamy brown eyeliner is the perfect color to push along the lash line for definition.

Lancome Brow Define Pencil in Natural Blonde — I am not married to any eye pencil in particular, but this is the current one I am using. I like the color and the spoolie brush end to evenly distribute the product.

Hourglass Arch Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel in Blonde — This is a product that is completely great on its own. You can build up the color or add as a finishing product to brows.

Laura Mercier Eyelash Curler — It curls lashes and gives them a lift.

GrandeDrama Intense Thickening Lash Mascara — On most days, I don’t wear mascara, but I have been loving this for volume and some serious oomph! It also has castor oil in it to promote healthy lashes.

LIPS

It Cosmetics Lip Pencil in Buff Nude— Nothing beats this pencil for me. The color, the texture, and the longevity.

Marc Jacobs Creme Lipstick in Cream & Sugar — This is gorgeous peachy nude that feels creamy on the lips.

Nudestix Plumping Lip Glace in Nude 04 — I love the moisturizing comfortable feel of this gloss. I like this on it’s own or over gloss. Plus it smells exactly like a chocolate thin mints!
