It has been a little while since I have an updated post on my hair routine. But I thought I would break down the steps and what products I have been loving to achieve this look. I love the look of touchable, undone hair, nothing too perfect!

Cleansing

Since I color my hair, I try to use shampoo and conditioners that are sulfate-free or safe for colored hair. I wash my hair 2-3 times a week. Typically I use a gentle cleansing shampoo and deeply conditioning mask and occasionally I will use a purple shampoo to keep brassiness at bay.

Styling

I wish I had the kind of hair that air dries to perfection, but my hair really just falls flat. On days I know I have no events or shoots, I will just air dry, but mostly I take some extra steps to give myself a good blow dry that will last a couple of days.

Step 1. I use Aquis Luxe Hair Towel out of the shower. It is a soft, quick-drying microfiber towel that doesn’t tug or pull at the hair .

Step 2. I detangle hair using a tangle teaser and detangling mist. I apply a quart-sized amount of IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel, which smooths and strengthens.

Step 3: If I have time, I will do my makeup and let my hair dry as much as possible (ideally until its 80 % dry, this makes the actual blow drying time much less.) Then I section the hair and work from bottom to top. I use the Ibiza Cork Round Brush (must have, so much better than round brushes that are metal which break hair) and blow dry to get some lift. I then take the section i just blow dried and wrap around a velcro roller as it cools. I do this to all the sections and then mist with hair spray.

Step 4: I remove the velcro rollers. I then take a pre-heated curling iron and just wrap around some front sections so they are bent the way I like. I spray with the Bumble & Bumble Dry Texturizing Spray to give it a messy, undone feel.

NOTE: This whole process takes around 30 minutes, it’s never too precise. Sometimes I just use the velcro rollers on top for some volume, if I don’t have time.

Extras

On days that I want to revive my blow out, I use Klorane Dry Shampoo. It is really the only one I like. It doesn’t have a strong scent and gives a real boost.

If I want to treat my hair, I like to use Olaplex as an overnight mask or leave it on 20 minutes before I get into the shower.

Lastly, I love the Slip silk hair scrunchies for when I want t put my hair up or sometimes at night when I sleep. They really glide against hair with no breakage.
