On My Desk
I thought I would share a few of the things that I use on a daily basis to keep me organized.
Desk and Chair
In terms of interiors, I love a thoughtful mix of old and new, as you will see with a lot of my pieces. I found this sweet pine table at an antique store in Pasadena for a great price. There really is nothing like the patina of old beautiful wood. I am always on the search for the perfect upholstered chair, but in the meantime, I have paired it with a classic wishbone chair.
Candle
A candle always adds cozy ambiance and I love this one from Cire Trudon. I know their candles are pricey, but their unique scents and the quality really do hold up. This scent is Abd El Kader or Moroccan Mint Tea which is a nice fragrance to light in the day. I also love the Jenni Kayne Basil candle. (Use code CAITLINC15 for 15 percent off.)
Papers and Pen
I have strong feelings when it comes to notepads and writing utensils. I fill up notebooks monthly with ideas and lists and when my beloved Muji notebooks were discontinued, I found these very similar ones online. I like a lined, spiral notebook for jotting down recipes I have in mind, daily tasks, and even grocery lists. I find it immensely helpful to physically write something down. With what you may ask? Controversially not a pen, but with the only pencil that really matters: the Blackwing. You haven’t experienced the true pencil experience until you have pressed the lead of a Blackwing pencil to paper. The Blackwing’s history started when it was first created in the 1930s and beloved by artists, writers, architects, and animators. It was then discontinued in 1998 and people were paying up to 40 dollars a pencil on eBay. They revamped the brand in 2007 thankfully!
For scheduling, I like the Appointed Year Task Planners. They have a monthly overview, plenty of space to write down weekly tasks.
