How to Get a Natural Glow
Makeup trends come and go, but beautiful skin is timeless. I thought I would share my favorite products to get that dewy, glossy skin that looks healthy and natural. I do believe it all starts with taking care of the skin and I thought I would do a full post on my skin story over the years because at points it was a struggle. But these are some of my favorite products to fake that summer glow!
PREP
After cleansing, I start with a mist of Josh Rosebrook's Hydrating Accelerator. I love buying a product on a whim and then wondering how you ever have lived without it! It is the best facial mist I have ever used for 2 reasons. The first is the incredible list of ingredients that are completely natural (for example : aloe, vera leaf juice, sea buckthorn oil, goji berry, chamomile, dandelion (see full list here.) The second is how it is hydrating, but light at the same time. I have normal to oily skin, but this just adds a healthy skin glow. Plus because the ingredients are so clean, I don't mind misting it on my face all day. If you look at what is in other face mists, as you are misting yourself multiple times a day, you are ingesting those ingredients. I like that this product is as safe as it is result driven. I then apply a moisturizer and SPF. Lastly when I want makeup to last and give further radiance boost, I use the Laura Mercier Radiance Primer.
MAKEUP
I then apply a thin layer of Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation, along with concealing any dark spots with the Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Concealer. I then apply the Nudestix Nudies Bondi Bae Bronzing Stick on the usual spots : forehead, cheekbones, and chin. (TIP: my favorite thing about this stick is applying it over the bridge of the nose, and lightly under the eye. Because this is a cream formula, it looks so natural on the skin but gives that hint of a sunkissed bronze when you would really pick up color from the sun.) Next I love melting the Nudestix Hey Honey Highlighting Stick into the top of cheekbones, down the nose, brow bone, and even on the lid. It gives a lit from within glow, rather than an artificial, make-upy looking highlight. Finally I add a touch of the Ilia Multi-Stick in I Put a Spell on You on the cheeks to give a bit of color. Lastly, I lightly set with powder.
Finally I have been liking a final slick of Colorescience Lip Shine in Champagne. It has a balm like texture, no stickiness, and a higher SPF of 35 than normal lip products. I then like to do a final mist of the setting spray!
