Cozy Fall Things
As its nearing the end of October, I finally start getting into that Fall mode: cooking, reading, putting out candles, blankets and pillows. Here are some of my favorite ways to get cozy.
SOFT KNITS
Nothing feels better than wearing a soft cozy knit. This is definitely my most purchased item in my wardrobe, it is the one thing I can’t resist! I love brands like Vince, Theory and & Other Stories for great options. I am especially into warm neutral tones this fall. I love this cashmere cardigan in the perfect shade of Autumnal brown. It looks nice on it’s own or even over the shoulders.
COOKBOOK
The best thing about the weather getting cooler is the recipes. Apple Crumble, Pork Chops with Fig Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, Roast Chicken, Potato soup, shall I continue? It is my favorite time of year to get a big stack of cookbooks and gather some inspo. One of my all time favorite cookbook authors, Diana Henry just released her latest book From Oven to Table. Her books are worth reading for the writing alone, but this book is especially user friendly as the focus ison easy dishes to throw in a pan and chuck in the oven to have a delicious meal ready. The styling and photography are always perfection.
PEARS
Speaking of recipes, one of my fall favorite fruits is the pear. It can be used both sweet or savory. My last post was a Spiced Pear Cocktail recipe (here) , but I also love a pear clafouti ( so easy to make!) , substituting pears for apples in a crisp, or on a salad with blue cheese and walnuts. It is definitely a fruit to embrace this season!
CANDLES
During the summer, I never light any candles and as soon as it becomes just a little cooler, I can’t light enough! Right now my favorite is this William Sonoma Spiced Chestnut Candle. It has all the elements of a Fall candle without the sickly sweetness. I always love the Jenni Kayne Ash Candle and the Diptyque Ambre Candle. jdklddldldld
SLIPPERS
The epitome of cozy fall things is the slipper. I love sinking my feet into something warm and fuzzy like these Jenni Kayne slippers. These shearling version are cute, I also love the version they make in suede and tan.
