RECIPE | Spiced Pear Cocktail
Inspired by the flavors of the season, I love pairing pears and vanilla, with a little warm spice from the nutmeg. Pears lend them self nicely to a lot of alcohols, so swap it out with your favorite. I chose gin because I like that underlying botanical note. They also pair with spice : cinnamon, nutmeg, or cardamom. The finished drink tastes well rounded, not too sweet with that hint of autumn spice and makes for a palette satisfying cocktail!
INGREDIENTS
2 oz Pear Juice
1 oz gin (can substitute for other alcohols such as vodka)
1 Tsp. Vanilla Syrup (or to taste)
1/8 tsp grated nutmeg
Sparkling Water
DIRECTIONS
Bring 1 cup sugar and 1 cup water, to a boil. Let it stay at a rapid simmer for around 8 minutes until thickened. Stir in 1 tablespoon vanilla extract.

Strain into a glass filled with ice. Add some sparkling water and stir.
Garnish with a slice of pear.
