Weekend Notes

I know, I know, spring and florals, what a predictable pair. But I can’t help myself whenever Reformation drops their new Spring line. They always have a “cool” take on florals, marrying a feminine print with a modern piece of clothing. I love how this top ties at the shoulders and looks good with light jeans. Also, I recently picked up these sandals for $60, I like how simple they are and they come in many colors.

This last weekend, I continued my foray into gardening picking up some new plants including a beautiful and fragrant pale pink garden rose. Currently, my strawberries are already ripening and there is starting to be some green fruit on my tomato plants.

I have been really trying to carve out some more time to read. I started Save Me the Plums: MY Gourmet Memoir by Ruth Reichl, about her time as editor of Gourmet magazine and I am loving it so far. If you are into food and recipes, she updates her blog regularly and is such a wonderful writer.

I also chronicled making gnocci on my Instagram. I made it years ago and it was an epic fail, but after a little research I tried it again. It couldn’t have been easier and it they came out pillowy and light. I paired it with a parmesan, butter and sage sauce. I want to make again soon!
