Thanksgiving at Home
This year has been challenging to say the least, so I wanted to make our Thanksgiving feel thoughtful and special.
Usually, I am the neutral queen, but this year I wanted to add in some warmer tones. I was inspired by the deep caramel color of these Hudson Grace napkins along with my Mepra flatware. I then added in more depth with beeswax candles and pears and tangerines from the farmers market down the middle of the table. At the flower market, I found the most stunning caramel garden roses which sat at one end.
My mom and I cooked all day. We made a Buttermilk-Brined Turkey Breast and a whole roast chicken. They were delicious and flavorful and there was plenty of leftovers! Along with the usual sides, I made a Maple Pumpkin Pie which involved roasting a Kabocha squash and making a maple caramel. We decided it was one of the best pumpkin pies we have made, so I am saving that recipe!
We had beautiful weather and I was grateful for our small gathering.
Now onto the holidays! guess I am running behind because everyone seems to have their tree up already!
