Winter Wardrobe Edit
After the holidays, I find myself wanting to get organized. Over the past couple of days, I cleaned out my closet and took stock of what I really love to wear. This inspired the idea to write up a little capsule wardrobe post and the pieces in my closet that get the most use.
COATS
In Winter, I base my look around the coat out of sheer ease. Layering a gorgeous coat over some tried-and-true basics makes for an instant stylish outfit. Since I don’t live in any extreme weather, I have some flexibility here, but I rotate between a wool coat, a trench coat, and a puffer.
SWEATER
The sweater is one of my most worn items. A few favorite styles for sweaters are an oversized crewnec k(layered over a T-shirt or wrapped over shoulders), a cardigan, a classic turtleneck, a V-neck and a slim fit dressy sweater that looks nice tucked into pants or a skirt.
BOTTOMS
Jeans in black, blue, and cream are year round staples, along with trouser pants and leggings.
SHOES
Shoes depend on the occasion. For the day-to-day, I usually rotate between sneakers or lug boots. When I want to look a little dressier, I love a short boot or loafer.
Accessories
A few cozy accessories can make an outfit. I love a good cashmere beanie and scarf, a day bag, and a simple bag in the evening.
